We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Assistant to support our team in operating and maintaining machines that insert printed materials, such as letters or booklets, into folders or envelopes. As a Machine Assistant, you will work closely with the Machine Operator to ensure the machine operates efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive approach and ability to make adjustments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

-Assist the Machine Operator in setting up and adjusting the machine to operate efficiently.
-Oversee output, ensuring high-quality results and making adjustments as needed.
-Assist in loading paper and removing finished materials and products from the machine.
-Place materials into containers for packaging or distribution.
-Inspect materials and products for defects, alerting the Machine Operator to ensure all products meet specifications.
-Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring proper functioning of all equipment.
-Set up receiving containers for finished products.
-Move pallets and carts loaded with printed materials to designated areas.
-Follow work instructions from the Machine Operator to ensure smooth workflow.
-Perform routine clerical tasks related to the equipment, including maintaining machine operating and maintenance records and creating identification labels.
-Provide basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment.
-Identify potential machine issues and make basic adjustments to ensure proper operation.

Desired Background/Skills:

-Familiarity with routine operating procedures for machines and the ability to follow step-by-step instructions.
-Ability to identify improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments.
-Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring quality and accuracy.
-Basic clerical skills for maintaining records and labeling products.
-Ability to perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
-Ability to safely move pallets and equipment.
