Accounting Manager

CoWorx has partnered with a company specializing in providing technical products and services focused on radiation protection and safety in various operating environments, particularly within the nuclear industry who is looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team in Golden, CO!

This position will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, accuracy of accounting records, cost accounting analysis, application of information technology, conformance with financial controls, ensuring that reported results comply with accounting principles and standards, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. It will be working directly with another accounting manager, and four other associates all reporting to the director of accounting.

There is schedule flexibility between the hours of 7a and 5:30pm for an eight hour shift, and the pay ranges from $45.00 to $55.00 per hour, depending on experience. This is a temporary role covering for a maternity leave and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

Manage all finance and accounting operations
Coordinate and directing the preparation and closing month end and year-end financial statements for independent audit or review
Prepare and publishing timely monthly financial statements
Manage all accounting operations including: billing, A/R, A/P, GL and bank reconciliation, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Establishes and monitors overall accounting policies, internal controls, and accounting practice
Manages the company’s financial reporting system, and generates monthly financial statements and ensures the integrity of the balance sheet
Maintains the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers to reflect the financial affairs of the company properly
Oversee accounts receivables to ensure timely and accurate application of billings and cash receipts
Collaborate with operations on best practices and cost saving initiatives

Desired Background/Skills:

Proven working experience as Accounting Manager
8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience in a related field and/or public accounting environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CMA is a plus but not required
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating and closing financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
