CNC & Manual Machinist

Job Description:

Location: Conway, New Hampshire

We are seeking a skilled CNC &Manual Machinist to join our team in Conway, NH.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating and programming Bridgeport-style manual machines and be proficient with Proto-Trak controls. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality machining processes, maintaining tooling, and supporting daily operations within a manufacturing environment.

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Range: $25–$32/hour (DOE)

Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and shut down manual milling machines in accordance with procedures and safety guidelines
Program and run 2–3 axis Bridgeport-style machines using Proto-Trak controls
Maintain and sharpen tooling for peak performance
Measure and verify work-piece dimensions for quality assurance
Monitor machine operations to detect defects or malfunctions
Maintain accurate logs of preventive maintenance
Manage workflow and materials through the machine shop
Recommend tooling improvements for efficiency
Perform first-piece inspections to verify proper setup and quality
Follow safety procedures and use required PPE at all times

Desired Background/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent (technical school/certification preferred)
3–5 years’ machining experience preferred
Proficient in Proto-Trak programming and manual machine tool setup
Ability to read blueprints, job specs, and Bills of Materials (BOM)
Familiar with converting decimals to fractions
Comfortable operating a forklift and pallet jack
Strong understanding of machine shop safety and operations
Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions: dust, metal shavings, machine oil
Frequent interaction with machinery including pinch points and rotating parts
