SMT Kit Assembler

Job Description:

Location: South Portland, Maine

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Kit Assembler to join our client’s production team in South Portland, ME. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to retrieve parts from stock and assemble “kits” that supply Surface Mount operators with all the components needed to complete orders. You’ll also be responsible for breaking down completed kits, verifying parts, using x-ray counting equipment, and returning components to inventory.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret process documentation and assembly drawings
Retrieve parts from various sources, including tape and reel, tubes, and boxes
Assemble complete kits for the production team
Break down completed kits, verify parts, and return them to inventory
Operate x-ray counting equipment (training provided)
Stand for extended periods throughout the day
Collaborate and communicate effectively in a team setting
Adapt to changing responsibilities based on production needs

Desired Background/Skills:

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good eyesight (corrected or uncorrected)
Ability to work on your feet for most of the day
Comfortable working at a fast pace
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Familiarity with ESD requirements a plus
Prior experience in electronics or component handling is preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate!

Job Title: Kit Assembler – 1st Shift
Location: South Portland, ME
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
