Location: Slatersville, Rhode Island

Position Title: Tool and Maintenance Technician
Department: Tool Room
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:42 AM – 3:12 PM
Pay Rate: $25–$35/hour (Based on Experience)

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Maintenance Technician to support our plastics manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of injection molds and related tooling used in the production of plastic components. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, experienced with precision tools and equipment, and committed to maintaining high-quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds and tooling.
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble mold components to ensure proper function and longevity.
Identify and resolve tooling issues affecting part quality or machine efficiency.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to perform repairs accurately.
Operate a range of manual and CNC machinery including: Surface grinders, OD/ID grinders, Milling machines, Lathes, EDM equipment
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other gauges to verify tolerances.
Execute mold configuration changes, seal replacements, pin swaps, and other routine tooling tasks.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations in compliance with plant safety and 5S standards.
Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to support tooling performance and resolve technical challenges.
Perform other duties as assigned based on production needs and technician skill level.

Desired Background/Skills:

1–3 years of hands-on experience in a tool room, mold maintenance, or machine repair role—preferably within a plastics or injection molding environment.
Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment.
Basic computer skills and the ability to follow digital work instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and troubleshooting ability.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
