Materials Processor

CoWorx has partnered with a raw material manufacturer, who is looking to add Materials Processors to their team in New Hartford, NY. As a Materials Processor, who will be tasked with operating manufacturing and testing equipment for all products. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the only US based manufacturer of raw nitinol, a nickel-titanium alloy with super elastic and shape memory properties, that is used to create various items such as wires, bars, ribbons, and sheets for medical devices. The Materials Processor position is a temporary to hire opportunity starting at $19.00 per hour and offers shift differentials based work schedule. Potential shifts include Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, 3:30pm to 12:00am or 11:30pm to 8:00am.

Responsibilities:

A Materials Processor provides manufacturing labor, testing, evaluation and documentation for production and ancillary support.
Perform charge make-up, melting (VIM), stripping, weighing, cutting and welding to produce electrodes for re-melting (VAR).
(VAR) (ESR) melting, ability to set-up and melt electrodes.
Rolling, generate roll downs for test sampling, internal and external.
Maintain production records and enter data in electronic files.
Perform routine equipment maintenance, including minor repair and modifications.
Perform redraw, wire drawing, cleaning, annealing.
Maintain production records and product identity.
Prepare, inspect and pack product for shipment.
Receive, identify, sort, document, store, and distribute bar, coil, slab, sheet and wire samples for chemistry, metallographic and mechanical tests.
Safely handle hazardous materials and wastes to carry out production processes.

Desired Background/Skills:

Previous manufacturing experience desired but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
Ability to set-up rolling to the proper rolling procedures.
Read, understand and follow procedures.
Desire to work safely and follow all safety procedures.
