CDL A Driver – Springfield MA
Mount Kemble Search Group, the direct hire division of CoWorx Staffing Services, has an opportunity for a CDL A Driver for a top client in the Springfield MA area. This is a F/T, direct placement to the client, with an hourly rate of $22 -$32, BOE and slightly negotiable.

You will have an assigned truck, responsible for keeping the truck and equipment clean and organized. (tie downs, blocks, straps, etc.) Load equipment onto the truck and secure it. Pick up and deliver equipment to customer’s plant. Pay attention to delivery deadlines and make sure they are met. Maintain a professional appearance and pleasant attitude when dealing with the customer’s employees. In many cases this is the first personal contact with our customers, and first impressions are very important.

Responsibilities:

Transport and deliver goods in accordance with a schedule, including emergency, rush deliveries, and/or pick-ups that require mandatory overtime.
Verify the count and condition of transported items, reporting any damage as applicable. Assist in loading and unloading freight as required.
Secure loads properly with emphasis on safety. Assure that loads are within weight limits.
Operate truck in a safe manner.
Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
Report any vehicle problems or defects to supervisor immediately.
Maintain vehicles in a manner that projects positive company image to customers and the public.
Maintain a good driving record.
Ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and by acting in a courteous, professional manner.

Desired Background/Skills:

We need a minimum of at least 2 years of experience as a CDL Class A Truck Driver.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to deal with customers effectively and promote strong company image.
Must have valid CDLA driver’s license.
Comply with DOT driver log requirements.
Current valid medical card
Regulatory yearly/bi-yearly physical certification and drug screening is necessary.
Physical capability of driving a minimum of eight hours per day.
Must be able to secure tie downs and straps and utilize all equipment associated with such responsibilities.
Capability to climb into and out of truck bed while loading and/or unloading truck.
Drive forklift and use hoists and cranes for loading and unloading when applicable.
