CMM/CT Scanner Operator

Job Description:

Location: Torrington, Connecticut

CoWorx Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM/CT Scanner Operator in the Torrington, CT area!

This position is for a medical plastic injection molding industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing precision measurement programs, performing dimensional data collection and analysis, and ensuring all components meet stringent medical device quality and regulatory standards.

Direct Hire Opportunity

1st Shift Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

Run established CMM and CT Scanner programs to perform dimensional inspections on plastic injection molded components and assemblies.
Collect, interpret, and analyze dimensional data to verify part conformance against engineering drawings and specifications.
Record and report inspection results accurately in accordance with SOPs, regulatory, and customer requirements. Maintain organized digital and physical inspection records.
Perform daily checks, calibration verification, and routine maintenance of CMMs and CT Scanners to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Identify nonconformances, measurement anomalies, or potential tooling issues, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve root causes.
Assist in setup verification, program validation, and basic edits under guidance from Quality Engineers or Metrology Specialists.
Adhere to all quality system requirements including FDA, ISO 13485, and customer-specific standards.
Participate in initiatives to enhance measurement efficiency, data accuracy, and process capability.
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Tooling, and Production teams to communicate inspection results, trends, and potential quality risks.

Desired Background/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in metrology, precision measurement, or mechanical inspection preferred.
1+ years of experience operating CMMs or CT Scanners in a manufacturing or medical device environment preferred.
Familiarity with GD&T, 3D CAD models, and dimensional inspection methods. Experience with Zeiss Calypso or similar CMM/CT software is a plus.
Strong ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, and analyze dimensional data to ensure part compliance.
High degree of accuracy, precision, and consistency in measurement and documentation.
Clear verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration across departments.
Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office, data entry systems) and capable of working with electronic quality records.
Demonstrated commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.
