Automation Controls Engineer

CoWorx is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join our team in the Slatersville, RI area!

This role is responsible for supporting new equipment programs, improving processes, and providing technical leadership in automation and controls within a manufacturing environment.

Schedule: 1st Shift

Responsibilities:

Support new equipment programs by contributing to design, sourcing quotations, and collaborating with external partners.
Implement cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives through internal and external resources.
Provide engineering support and troubleshoot production equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Respond promptly to critical production issues impacting manufacturing or distribution.
Design and program controls as requested by Manufacturing Engineers, from minor timing changes to full reprogramming.
Collaborate with suppliers to build designs and translate drawings into standard documentation using available software.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving production problems related to machinery and gauges.
Participate in team activities such as tooling/process reviews, cost reduction projects, and other initiatives to improve operations.
Help establish standards for control and gauge design to promote flexibility and reduce changeover times.
Perform other tasks and projects as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in machine controls design.
Strong understanding of manufacturing automation and programming logic.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/engineering tools.
Technical experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
Experience using statistical tools and techniques for quality management.
