Position: Buyer – Manufacturing
Location: Woodstock, CT
Position Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services required for manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in supplier management, cost control, and inventory planning to ensure materials are available on time and meet quality standards. The Buyer works closely with suppliers, production teams, and upper management to support operational goals.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, and alignment with company objectives
• Monitor material supply levels and proactively address shortages or bottlenecks
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and supply chain issues
• Analyze industry trends to anticipate market shifts and material availability
• Ensure supplier adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards
• Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing and terms with vendors
• Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deadlines and requirements

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with ERP systems
• Understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or
• 5+ years of experience in a similar purchasing or supply chain role
