SMT Operator

Job Description:

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts

We’re seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join our manufacturing team in Chelmsford, MA on 2nd shift.
This is a direct-hire opportunity offering stability, hands-on technical work, and the chance to be part of a collaborative, quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Operating and maintaining surface mount and through hole lines.

  • Perform multitasks; operate GSM1 P&P, reflow oven, screen printer, glue dot machines, wave solder, aqueous cleaner
  • Coordinate work efficiently with Group Lead and PC Planner
  • Ability to work with engineers; follow drawings/print; LCLCR meter and calipers
  • Responsible for reporting any equipment or material problems
  • Establishes and performs preventative maintenance schedules
  • Evaluate machine malfunctions, recommend strategy for repair, coordinate resolution
  • Recommend purchase of equipment from a maintenance perspective
  • Build difficult and complex SMT units, military and medical
  • Ability to produce appropriate documentation
  • Recommend Process Improvements
  • Enforce company policies/procedures
  • Comply to all ISO9000/2000

Desired Background/Skills:

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or trade school required
  • Not less than five years of production experience, preferably in an electronics environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge in SMT component ID necessary
  • Understands complicated specifications, blueprint reading and shop mathematics
  • In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting electronic machinery
  • Ability to life and carry up to 25 lbs.
