CMM Programmer / Inspector

Pay: $30–$35/hour (Hourly, based on experience)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer / Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team in Charlestown, NH. This direct-hire, first-shift opportunity plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, supporting production flow, and maintaining high inspection standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a production machine shop environment.

Responsibilities:
Program, set up, and operate AIMS CMMs to inspect machined components.
Develop, optimize, and update CMM programs for new and existing parts.
Troubleshoot measurement issues and ensure reliable, repeatable results.
Maintain and revise CMM programs to reflect engineering or process changes.
Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensional compliance prior to production release.
Provide timely feedback to Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to reduce downtime and rework.
Conduct in-process, final, and layout inspections as required.
Support capability studies, measurement validations, and part layouts.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications accurately.
Document inspection results and maintain records per internal quality system requirements.
Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for dimensional issues.
Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to improve manufacturability and inspection efficiency.
Recommend improvements to fixturing, inspection methods, and measurement strategies.
Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Background/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree preferred.
Experience programming and operating CMMs in a production machine shop.
Hands-on experience with AIMS or similar CMM software.
Strong blueprint reading skills with solid GD&T knowledge.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
Knowledge of machining processes and tolerances.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume machining environments.
Experience with first-article, first-piece, and in-process inspections.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
