Tool Maker

CoWorx is seeking a Tool maker in the Northvale, NJ area!

The Tool Maker is responsible for creating and maintaining tools and equipment to support production. This person will have in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, a good eye for detail, and the ability to visualize structural components.

Shift: 1st – 7:00 am-3:30 pm OR 2nd – 3:00 pm-11:30 pm

Responsibilities:

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and material requirements to determine optimal design and production methods. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to ensure quality and functionality of tools.
Design and create precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures.
Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and gauge blocks, to measure and inspect finished tools.
Maintain accurate records of tool design, production, and performance.
Adhere to safety, quality, and production standards.
Troubleshoot issues with tools and recommend repairs or modifications.

Desired Background/Skills:

High School diploma required.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a tool maker.
Experience working with progressive dies is strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.
Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
Experience with quality control analysis.
