Straightening Operator

Job Description:

Location: Palmer, Massachusetts

CoWorx Staffing is seeking a Straightening Operator for our client located in the Palmer, MA area.

The primary function of this position is to operate equipment to straighten, de-twist, cut, and coil wire and hand straighten.

Responsibilities:

Receives manufacturing order and instructions from lead or supervisor and reviews specifications.
Sets up various machines to process material as specified.
Loads material onto pay-off reel and positions reel properly at machine.
Adjusts machine to produce specified straightness and length.
Runs material to straightness specifications and boxes material when required.
Observes and checks material throughout production to maintain quality standards.
Maintains material traceability, including metal and paper tag making.
Records production and downtime on the daily job card.
Notifies supervisor or lead of any unusual material or equipment conditions.
Completes daily crane and forklift safety inspection checklist when applicable.
Inspects material during operation to ensure quality from starting stock to finished piece.
Reviews and adheres to Standard Efficiency on MO Router.
Places scrap in proper containers and notifies supervisor to create scrap report.
Follows all cleaning and virus-prevention protocols.
Observes all safety rules, maintains housekeeping, and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Must be able to perform all job functions safely and follow established company safety rules.
Must meet company performance standards for the position.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work assigned schedules, including required overtime.
Must participate in company orientation and all required training programs.
Must know how to access and understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for all materials used.
Must maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Other Information:

Shift: 5:00am – 1:30pm M-F, OT may be requested
Compensation: $18.31 – 21.61/hr., based off years of experience
