CoWorx Staffing is seeking a Roller Operator for our client located in the Palmer, MA area.
The primary function of this position is Set up/Break down rolling mills. Operate large or small mill to roll steel, stainless steel, brass, and other metals from either bar or coil form.

Responsibilities:
Receives copy of order from production board and reviews rolling specifications.
Procures proper rolls and raw material, and sets up assigned mill.
Performs set-up and break-down; checks accuracy by running a short length of material through the machine and adjusts as necessary. Sets guides and feeds material into rolls to ensure proper size and straightness.
Prepares first piece and obtains acceptable first-piece inspection from QA.
Starts machine, adds lubricant, observes process, and monitors specifications and quality.
Changes rolls, lubricants, and cleans equipment as required.
Uses micrometers to check work, observes surface of material, and adjusts mill as needed. When job is completed or coiler is full, ties up coil and unloads coiler.
Maintains material traceability, including metal and paper tag making.
Moves material to storage area and marks identification of each coil/bar truck.
Inspects material during production to ensure quality from starting stock to finished piece.
Notifies supervisor or lead of any unusual material or equipment conditions.
Records production and downtime on job card.
Reviews and adheres to Standard Efficiency on MO Router.
Records dimensions on process data sheets per ISO requirements.
Places scrap in proper containers and notifies supervisor to create scrap report.
Completes daily crane and forklift safety inspection checklist.
Follows all cleaning and virus-prevention protocols.
Observes all safety rules, maintains housekeeping, and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Participates in cross-training as an essential part of operations.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work assigned schedules, including required overtime.
Must participate in company orientation and all required training programs.
Must know how to access and understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for all materials used.
Must maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Other Information:
Shift: 5:00am – 1:30pm M-F, OT may be requested
Compensation: $18.91 – 21.91/hr., based off years of experience
