Metal Belt Processing Technician

CoWorx Staffing has a temp-to-hire opportunity in the West Springfield/Agawam, MA area that manufactures conveyor belts!

Responsibilities:

Perform repetitive and routine tasks in the preparation and set-up of metal belts to be welded.
Duties include:

• Accurately cut metal strip to the correct belt length.
• Set up production belts on appropriate fixtures for perforating and/or resistance tack welding in preparation for welding.
• Polish, deburr, and inspect belts for surface imperfections.
• Carefully finish welded belts, including flattening, edge sanding, and surface buffing.
• Package finished belts for shipping in accordance with approved standards.
• Maintain required logs or records for all work performed.
• Use appropriate jigs and fixtures, as well as cutting, polishing, deburring, sanding, and dimensional measuring equipment.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret detailed specifications from engineering drawings.
• Follow workplace instructions and general standards for safety and housekeeping; report faulty equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to appropriate supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Desired Background/Skills:

• Two years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret detailed specifications from engineering drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Flexible schedules!
Train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift.
1st shift $17/hour
2nd shift $18/hour
