1st Shift AOI Machine Operator

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking Machine Operator candidates in the South Portland, ME area. The AOI Inspector is responsible for inspecting products during the production assembly process using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment. This role is critical in identifying defects or potential assembly issues early in the manufacturing process to ensure product quality, compliance with workmanship standards, and adherence to documented procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect products using AOI machines to verify compliance with workmanship standards.
• Verify AOI reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with AOI Plus Operator/Lead to identify defect types and quantities.
• Perform X-ray analysis as required.
• Verify process compliance with established procedures.
• Verify documentation compliance with document control requirements.
• Run PCB assemblies through wash processes between inspections.
• Operate Fisnar masking and solder pasting machines.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform basic operator maintenance in the AOI area.
• Work efficiently and accurately with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members to support production goals.
• Adapt responsibilities based on changing organizational needs.

Desired Background/Skills:

• U.S. Citizen (ITAR-controlled environment).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Comfortable working in a team-oriented production environment.
• Ability to read schematics (preferred).
• Familiarity with inspection processes such as first piece, in-process, audit, and final inspections (preferred).
• Ability to use inspection tools including calipers, rulers, and microscopes.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-600, IPC-700 series, and IPC-7711/7721 (preferred).

Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Range: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
