Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts

MACHINE OPERATOR – 2ND and 3RD SHIFT
BUILD PRODUCTS THAT SUPPORT THE MEDICAL AND AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES

PAY and SCHEDULE
Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
2ND SHIFT Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
3RD SHIFT Sunday – Thursday: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
TRAINING SCHEDULE
All candidates will train on 1st Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in producing high-quality products while maintaining strict quality, safety, and production standards. OPERATE PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment to produce precision ceramic components.
  • Monitor machine performance and production output to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Perform machine safety checks before and during operation.

ENSURE QUALITY STANDARDS:

  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Perform periodic quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.

MAINTAIN PRODUCTION DOCUMENTATION:

  • Complete all required manufacturing documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain product traceability throughout the production process.
  • Follow all company procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.

SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AND WORK AREA MAINTENANCE:

  • Clean and maintain equipment and workstations to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
  • Assist with routine and preventative maintenance activities on equipment and machinery.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

FOLLOW TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Read and interpret product drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing methods.
  • Visualize machining and grinding operations and follow established procedures.
  • Accurately carry out written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.

EXPAND YOUR SKILLS:

  • Cross-train in other departments as needed to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Department Supervisor.
  • Gain valuable experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment.

Desired Background/Skills:

SKILLS WE’D LIKE TO SEE:

  • Strong manual dexterity.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using microscopes.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Machine operation experience preferred.
  • Inspection and quality control experience preferred.
  • Additional technical or mechanical skills are a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
