TIG Welder

CoWorx is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join our team in Sanford, Maine.
The TIG Welder will be responsible for setting up and preparing components for welding, joining metal parts according to customer specifications, blueprints, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience working with various metals, and the ability to produce high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Welds or tack welds metal parts together.
• Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring devices to properly layout parts to intended specifications.
• Fills cavities or corrects malformation in parts and hammer out bulges or bends in metal workpieces.
• Examines workpiece for defects.
• Climb ladders to assemble structures.
• Move parts on low lifts.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Desired Background/Skills:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. periodically.
• Must be able to assist others in 2-person lifting requirements up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl, climb or bend for up to 8 hours.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• TIG welding experience required – must be able to pass a flat TIG welding test.
• Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and read job specifications.
• Understand (BOM) Bill of Materials and identify material types and gauges.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• COBOT programming proficiency, designated for trained and approved employees only.
