Location: Slatersville, Rhode Island

QUALITY TECHNICIAN – INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING
Are you experienced in inspection, testing, and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment? We’re seeking a Quality Technician in the Cranston, RI area to support engineering and quality initiatives by performing dimensional inspections, functional testing, data analysis, and product validation activities. This position plays a critical role in qualifying new products, improving existing processes, and ensuring products meet customer and industry specifications.
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Quality Technician, you’ll work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to evaluate products, validate processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
PERFORM DIMENSIONAL & VISUAL INSPECTIONS

  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections on new and existing products.
  • Verify product conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Evaluate products to support qualification of new molds and mold improvements.
  • Accurately record inspection results and findings.

UTILIZE PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT

  • Use precision inspection tools including:
  • Calipers
  • Drop Indicators
  • Depth Gages
  • Optical Comparators
  • Ensure accurate measurements and reliable test results.

SUPPORT PRODUCT TESTING & VALIDATION

  • Perform functional testing of products and components.
  • Manufacture product samples as required for testing and evaluation.
  • Assist with new product introductions and engineering validation activities.
  • May operate injection molding and assembly equipment as needed.

ANALYZE DATA & GENERATE REPORTS

  • Document inspection and testing results within spreadsheets and reporting systems.
  • Perform statistical analysis on collected data.
  • Generate reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Interpret trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

DRIVE QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for defective products.
  • Participate in Material Review Board activities.
  • Assist Quality and Engineering teams with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and improve inspection and testing procedures.

SUPPORT TRAINING & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Help train employees on new inspection and testing procedures.
  • Share best practices and quality standards across departments.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities based on business needs and skill level.

SKILLS WE’D LOVE TO SEE

  • Quality inspection experience
  • Dimensional inspection experience
  • Manufacturing or production experience
  • Root cause analysis experience
  • Statistical analysis and reporting
  • Blueprint or drawing interpretation
  • Experience with calipers, depth gages, comparators, or similar measuring equipment
  • Process improvement and continuous improvement experience
  • Strong computer and spreadsheet skills
  • Injection molding or assembly experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-5 years of inspection and/or manufacturing experience
  • Solid understanding of measurement and test equipment
  • Strong mathematical skills, including: Fractions, Ratios, Proportions
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate technical information
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • English communication skills required
