Automation Technician

CoWorx is seeking a motivated Automation Technician Level 1 to join our EAM Production team in Biddeford, ME .
This role supports the assembly, troubleshooting, installation, and service of custom automated machinery designed to perform tasks with minimal human intervention. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, electrically capable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Shift: Monday to Friday 7AM to 3:30PM
Pay: : $25- $30/hr DOE

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, repair, and maintain automated and robotic systems
• Perform diagnostic checks, troubleshoot issues, and determine root causes (mechanical, electrical, or software-related)
• Support automation setup, startup, and debug
• Maintain accurate job documentation, including BOM updates and time logs
• Test electro-mechanical assemblies using multimeters and other diagnostic tools
• Assist in preparing testing documentation
• Support machine installation, startup, and customer approval processes
• Provide technical phone support and assist with service/spare parts
• Travel to customer sites as needed
• Conduct customer training

Desired Background/Skills:

• High school diploma required; associate degree in automation technology or mechatronics preferred
• Mechanical and electrical assembly experience
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Mechanical components (bearings, pneumatics, etc.)
• Electrical sensors, PLCs, motor drives, vision systems
• Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to work with engineers
• Ability to design/build simple jigs and fixtures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Willingness to learn ERP systems
• Ability to perform field service and machine installations
