SMT machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SMT Operator to join our electronics manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the production of printed circuit boards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, stencil printers, and reflow ovens.
• Load components and feeders according to job setup sheets and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Perform first article inspections to verify component placement and orientation.
• Conduct in-process visual inspections and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
• Troubleshoot machine errors and production issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure production standards are met.
• Maintain accurate production logs, setup records, and quality documentation.
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing policies.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Desired Background/Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and component datasheets.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Previous SMT manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with SMT processes, IPC standards, and ESD practices.
• Experience operating Samsung/Hanwha SMT equipment.
• Experience with manufacturing software such as ERP or MES systems.
• Technical training or certification in electronics.

Other Information:

• Location: South Portland, ME.
• Pay Rate: $20.00/hour.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
