Location: Slatersville, Rhode Island

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking a Toolmaker / Mold Maker for 1st Shift in the Slatersville, RI area.
Our client, a leading manufacturer in Slatersville, RI, is seeking an experienced Toolmaker/Mold Maker to join their team on 1st shift. This hands-on role is responsible for designing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining injection molds, fixtures, tooling, and machine components critical to manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong machining, mold repair, and troubleshooting experience, along with the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate, modify, and repair tooling, fixtures, molds, and machine components.
  • Analyze mold and tooling issues and perform repairs to maintain optimal production performance.
  • Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machining equipment, including:
  • Milling machines
  • Lathes
  • Surface grinders
  • OD/ID grinders
  • EDM equipment
  • CNC machinery
  • Work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to manufacture and repair components to close tolerances.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molds.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and evaluate molds to determine repair requirements.
  • Maintain and repair toolroom equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to tooling and mold performance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including general housekeeping duties.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Successful completion of a formal apprenticeship, technical training program, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong understanding of mold construction, repair, and maintenance.
  • Experience operating manual and CNC machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven experience working to precise tolerances and quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
  • Experience with injection molding tools and molds preferred.
