MACHINE SHOP TRAINER BUILD. TEACH. CREATE. POSITION SUMMARY Flexible Hours during the day, Mon- Fri! $30-40/hr Do you enjoy turning raw materials into finished products and helping others learn how to do the same? We’re looking for a hands-on MACHINE SHOP TRAINER who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment where ideas become reality. In this temporary role, you’ll support engineering teaching laboratories, research initiatives, and student design projects by helping students safely machine, fabricate, weld, and assemble components for coursework, prototypes, and capstone projects. If you love working with tools, solving problems, and mentoring future engineers, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, saws, drill presses, welding equipment, and related fabrication tools.
- Assist faculty and students with machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and prototype development.
- Provide guidance on the safe operation of shop equipment and enforce shop safety procedures.
- Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory courses and student projects.
- Perform routine maintenance of shop equipment and maintain an organized workspace.
- Manage inventories of raw materials, tooling, welding supplies, and shop consumables.
- Support installation and setup of new equipment as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:
- Technical training or equivalent experience in machining, manufacturing, welding, or mechanical engineering technology.
- Experience operating manual machine shop and welding equipment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, tooling, and shop safety practices.
- A passion for TEACHING, MENTORING, and helping students build confidence and skills.
- Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and continuous improvement.
