Warehouse Team Leader

Job Description:

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking strong warehouse supervisors or team leads for our warehouse located in Salt Lake City, UT.
This is a first-shift position with opportunity to grow. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Parts & Accessories warehouse while leading a team to ensure safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and exceptional customer service. This position serves as the primary point of contact for warehouse associates, providing coaching, training, and operational support to meet daily production goals and customer expectations.
Hours are 8:30 am- 5 pm Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and support warehouse associates to ensure safe, efficient, and productive daily operations.
  • Assign work based on business priorities, production demands, and staffing levels.
  • Train new employees on warehouse processes, safety procedures, equipment operation, and company standards.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to warehouse team members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational questions, workflow issues, and employee concerns.
  • Coordinate receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control activities.
  • Ensure all customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet customer requirements and production deadlines.
  • Assist with loading and unloading freight as needed to support warehouse operations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse operations utilizing 5S principles.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, organization, and handling of parts, materials, and accessories.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, replenishment needs, or inventory concerns.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and promote safe work practices throughout the warehouse.
  • Report and address accidents, near misses, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure equipment inspections are completed accurately and documented as required.
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Verify order accuracy and quality prior to shipment.
  • Ensure products are handled, stored, and transported properly to prevent damage.
  • Monitor quality standards throughout warehouse operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Complete daily production reports, operational documentation, and performance tracking records.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and labor utilization to support operational goals.
  • Communicate operational updates, performance metrics, and priorities with warehouse management.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and special assignments as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to four years of warehouse experience required.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a parts, automotive, manufacturing, or distribution warehouse environment preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanning equipment.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperature conditions.
