Custodian

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking a Custodian in the Plainfield, CT area. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility environment. This role supports daily operations by ensuring warehouse, office, breakroom, and common areas are clean, presentable, and compliant with safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a professional workplace.

Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the facility to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of warehouse aisles, loading docks, entryways, offices, conference rooms, breakrooms, and other common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste materials in accordance with company procedures.
• Replenish supplies in breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas as needed.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, walls, and other facility fixtures to maintain a professional appearance.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning projects, deep cleaning activities, and special facility improvement tasks.
• Monitor facility conditions and promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, equipment concerns, or supply shortages.
• Support facility organization by maintaining storage areas and ensuring walkways remain clear, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and company policies at all times.
• Collaborate with facility, maintenance, and operations teams to maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Desired Background/Skills:

• High school diploma required.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize daily assignments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products, equipment, and tools in accordance with established safety procedures.
