Machine Operator

CoWorx is seeking Machine Operators in the Portland, CT area!

Responsibilities:

• Sharpening various types of milling cutters, drills, taps or turning tools as required, manufacturing special form relieved cutters, maintaining the inventory of cutter grinding supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment including CNC and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Maintains quality standards and records quality results.
• Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly..

Desired Background/Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of prior CNC experience.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers and gauges.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently .
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques to maximize the effective manufacture of distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Be able to determine the kind of tools and equipment they will need in order to do the job properly.
• The skill to conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
