CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking Refrigeration Technician candidates in the Portsmouth, NH area. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the operation, inspection, and repair of the ammonia refrigeration systems within a frozen food manufacturing environment. You’ll ensure the systems run safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with IIAR (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration) and ASHRAE (ASHRAE — American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) standards as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

Operate, inspect, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and related utilities.
Perform scheduled maintenance on ammonia compressors, air compressors, boilers, electrical controls, pumps, fans, and HVAC equipment.
Conduct periodic inspections to identify and resolve malfunctions before they become costly downtime issues.
Support capital refrigeration projects, helping ensure they’re completed on time and within budget.
Test, inspect, and maintain plant fire prevention and emergency response systems.
Assist with general building and facility maintenance as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:

3+ years of HVAC and refrigeration experience, preferably with ammonia-based systems desired.
Solid understanding of preventive maintenance scheduling and real-time issue response.
Strong technical and administrative skills: able to handle documentation, technology systems, and repair work.
Team-oriented and communicative, comfortable collaborating with a wide range of people and skill levels.
