Location: Norwich, Connecticut

The Production Associate I, is responsible for supporting the production process by operating machinery, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves hands-on work with production equipment, packing finished products, and collaborating with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently meet all production work requirements assigned by following operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Operate necessary equipment to meet required Production schedules.
  • Assemble, package, and label products as required; accurately complete production recording as required.
  • Perform required inspection and quality checks; complete required documentation as outlined by process, and inspection sheets, work instructions, and the document traceability.
  • Inspect finished and in-process product for dimensional and cosmetic attributes according to defined specifications
  • Complete rework, as necessary, on products rejected by process in the specification. Work with other production areas, as necessary, to resolve quality problems.
  • May perform equipment set-up, calibration, and routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to success of team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on new methods or method changes and by displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with orders.
  • Willing to cross train in other areas and perform in those areas as needed.
  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment.
  • Demonstrate and promote the safety culture that all accidents are preventable.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties related to production, as directed by the Lead, Supervisor or Leadership Team.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Prior experience using scales preferred
  • Some mechanical capability & basic computer skills required
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with a passion to deliver excellence is essential
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety required
