SMT Manufacturing Supervisor / Manager Chelmsford, MA 1st Shift | Direct Hire $75,000–$88,000 per year Are you an experienced leader in SMT/PCB electronics manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? We’re seeking a hands-on Surface Mount Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to oversee daily SMT operations, drive team performance, and ensure top-quality electronic assemblies for high-reliability applications. Responsibilities: Oversee daily SMT operations including screen printing, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, and SPI. Ensure production goals, schedules, and quality targets are consistently met. Monitor line performance, throughput, yield, scrap, and downtime. Coordinate job changeovers and ensure accurate, efficient setups. Lead, coach, mentor, and train SMT operators and technicians. Manage staffing, assign work, approve timecards, and oversee overtime. Conduct reviews, provide feedback, and handle performance management. Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 quality standards. Collaborate with Quality & Engineering to resolve defects and drive RCA/CAPA actions. Oversee solder paste performance, placement accuracy, and reflow profile verification. Support SMT equipment operations: printers, placement machines, reflow ovens, conveyors, AOI, etc. Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment escalation as needed. Drive a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. |

Desired Background/Skills: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. 3–7+ years in SMT/PCB electronics manufacturing. 1–3+ years in a supervisory or team-lead role (preferred). Strong understanding of PCB drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and SMT processes. Experience with MES/ERP systems. Knowledge of reflow profiling and stencil/print process fundamentals. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. |
