The Utility 1 Solder position is an entry-level role within our Solder Department. In this position, you’ll learn and perform essential soldering operations under the guidance of the Solder Department Supervisor while supporting day-to-day production needs.

Responsibilities:

As a Utility Solder Operator, you’ll be trained to safely and efficiently perform the following operations:

• Set-up and charge operations
• Pin-stem operations
• Fusion operations
• Dapping operations
• Pick up racks from the set-up bench
• Load and unload the furnace in proper order, keeping jobs separate
• Move soldered or annealed work to the next station
• Perform routine housekeeping around the furnace area

Desired Background/Skills:

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous solder experience comparable to the solder techniques used here at VHB.
• Excellent hand and eye coordination.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, organizational abilities, and prioritization understanding.
• Ability to read work tickets, good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time.
