CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic Lead to join a manufacturing team in a direct hire position. This is a hands-on role for someone who has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and enjoys taking the lead on daily maintenance activities. The Maintenance Mechanic Lead will help prioritize and assign work, provide guidance to junior maintenance staff, and ensure production equipment is operating safely and efficiently. This individual will also remain actively involved in troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day guidance, leadership, and oversight to junior mechanics and maintenance technicians to support safe and efficient operations.
• Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure assignments are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior maintenance team members to support skill development and continuous improvement.
• Track maintenance costs, manage parts inventory, and maintain accurate work order documentation.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Install, modify, repair, maintain, and test electrical lines, circuits, controls, fixtures, and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on production machinery and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
• Work from technical drawings, diagrams, sketches, wiring schematics, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Repair or fabricate

Desired Background/Skills:

• Three to five or more years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
• Strong experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex production machinery and equipment.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine whether failures are mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic in nature.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
• Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic testing equipment.
• Experience prioritizing maintenance activities and coordinating daily maintenance workflow.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and train less-experienced maintenance technicians.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, HazMat requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, NEC standards, and general industrial safety practices.
• Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, catwalks, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on maintenance mechanic who is ready to step into a lead role. They should be comfortable being the go-to person on the floor, helping determine maintenance priorities, guiding other mechanics, and jumping in to troubleshoot and repair equipment when needed.

Location: St. Charles, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
Pay: $35.00-$41.00/hour target range
