We’re looking for a hands on Plant Controller in Warren, RI to take full ownership of inventory from purchase order through balance sheet, including precious metals, stones, components, and finished goods. This person partners directly with the CEO, VP of Production, and Head of Finance to provide clear visibility into inventory levels, valuation, costs, vendor payments, and purchasing needs. It’s a strategic role that provides financial oversight across the factory floor, vault, and receiving.

Responsibilities:

• Inventory control. The cycle count program, month-end and year-end physical counts, discrepancy root cause and resolution, shrink tracking, and the scrap-to-refiner loop from bench to refiner credit.
• Inventory accounting. Balance sheet inventory valuation, cost of goods accuracy, subledger to general ledger reconciliation, work in process, marketing samples and make-and-hold on the books, and inventory reporting for lenders.
• Purchasing control. Material purchase forecast against the sales plan, purchase order discipline, receiving, and vendor reconciliation for precious metal and component suppliers: invoices matched to POs and receipts, credits and returns captured, defective material charged back, payments accurate.
• ERP management. Process owner and super user for inventory, production and purchasing transactions. Backup to the Systems Lead. Bill of materials maintenance including sub-assemblies, returns and quarantine flow, and a workaround register where every open item has an owner and a date.
• Controls and audit readiness. Count documentation, segregation of duties inside the plant, collateral-grade inventory reporting, and the operating discipline that lets an outside lender or accountant rely on our inventory numbers.
• Cash forecast inputs. Timing, quantity and terms of inventory purchases for the cash forecast.

Desired Background/Skills:

• Experience leading inventory control or plant accounting in a manufacturing environment
• Experience taking physical counts and turning them into balance sheet numbers under audit.
• Strong in Excel and Power Query and familiar combining data from independent systems.
• Strong ERP familiarity; ERP implementation experience is a huge plus
• Direct approach & early communication around challenging topics or inventory discrepancies.
• Comfortable in a factory with a bilingual workforce.
• Desire and ability to build a function rather than inherit one.

Light lifting (up to approximately 25 lbs) for event setup, filing, and supplies Manual dexterity for computer use and paperwork; visual acuity for reviewing documents Communicates clearly in person, by phone, and in writing, in English and Spanish Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing-floor conditions (noise, equipment, materials)
