CNC Machinist Lead – Aerospace Manufacturing, Portland, CT, $35.00 – $42.00 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a CNC Machinist Lead to support daily operations, mentor machinists, and help drive quality and productivity across multiple manufacturing cells.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC and other manufacturing equipment to produce complex aerospace components.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications.
• Ensure finished parts meet tight tolerance and quality requirements.
• Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, indicators, and gauge blocks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and support process improvements.
• Lead, train, and mentor machinists while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records while adhering to safety standards.

Desired Background/Skills:

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience working with precision measuring equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
